We must bring what is happening in Belarus to the world’s attention and hear from those on the ground. The meeting is chaired by Urmas Reinsalu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. The meeting was initiated by Estonia and co-sponsored by UN Security Council members the United States and United Kingdom, as well as Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Ukraine.


The first high-level visit took place from 5-7 October 2009, when Belarus was visited by Estonian Minister of Agriculture Helir-Valdor Seeder. Foreign Minister Urmas Paet made a working visit to Minsk from 20-21 October 2009. In February of 2013, the Minister of Culture of Belarus was in Tallinn and opened the Belarusian Cultural Days. In November of 2013, the Belarusian Ministry of Forestry visited Estonia. In November of 2014, Estonian Agriculture minister Ivari Padar visited Belarus along accompanied by a business delegation.
