Ambassador

Merike Kokajev  the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Belarus.

Merike Kokajev studied French language and literature at St. Petersburg State University. Kokajev has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991. From 2005-2007, Merike Kokajev was a member of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and from 2008-2010 an Ambassador to India residing in Tallinn. From 2010, Kokajev was an Ambassador to Italy, San Marino and Malta, residing in Rome. Before the current position, Merike Kokajev worked as a Director of the Division of the EU General Affairs and South-Eastern Europe. Ambassador Kokajev speaks English, Russian and French.
